Welcome!Hello! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Jonathan Kenneth, and I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) with Richmond Public Schools in Richmond, Virginia. I have been an employee of RPS since 2010 and am a Buffalo, NY native. As an ITRT, I strive to provide assistance to the teachers, administrators, and students in the buildings in which I am assigned to work. I provide assistance to teachers and administrators, alike, whom are interested in integrating technology into their lessons, activities, and workshops to engage their students in the learning process. I also strive to help staff integrate technology in a practical manner. Learning new things is not always easy, but is it is my goal to help teachers integrate technology in a way in which students not only become more engaged, but become more motivated in increasing their agency over their own education. |

Before becoming an ITRT, I was a middle school history teacher, mostly teaching sixth grade history - United States History to 1865 (USI). I also taught seventh grade history (USII) and eighth grade Civics & Economics. I was also the sixth grade team chair for a number of years while I was a classroom teacher and the school soccer coach.
As a classroom teacher, I relied heavily on the use of technology in the learning process. Digital resources and learning tools allowed me to streamline the various teaching processes in my classroom while increasing student engagement and involvement in their own learning. I believe that technology, when used correctly, is one of the best ways to increase student interest in their learning. |
